Review : Cinder by Marissa Meyer

“Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.”

I love Science fiction, i love fairytales retellings, so obviously i knew i was going to enjoy Cinder. And i did, i did so very much! The writing was great. The storyline is sooo fun. It’s interesting and fascinating. The world created by Meyer is brillant.
Cinder was an amazing main character. She was independent, brave, and relatable. She didn’t always make the right decision, but this is a heroine that learns from her mistakes.
Kai was also a great character. The only problem, for me, is the love story between Kai and Cinder. It’s not the main aspect of the book, so i would’ve really enjoy to see more of them together. Maybe in thr next books of the series.

Cinder : 4.5/5
