Review : Asylum by Madeleine Roux

“For sixteen-year-old Dan Crawford, the New Hampshire College Prep program is the chance of a lifetime. Except that when Dan arrives, he finds that the usual summer housing has been closed, forcing students to stay in the crumbling Brookline Dorm—formerly a psychiatric hospital. As Dan and his new friends Abby and Jordan start exploring Brookline’s twisty halls and hidden basement, they uncover disturbing secrets about what really went on here . . . secrets that link Dan and his friends to the asylum’s dark past. Because Brookline was no ordinary mental hospital, and there are some secrets that refuse to stay buried.” (Goodreads)

This book had so many bad reviews on Goodreads, i was a bit scared to read it. But i was also very intrigued by it. The cover was creepy and the story sounded pretty interesting.
I found this book to be very enjoyable, but yes, It had some flaws. The story was fun, i loved the twists and the ending. The characters were fine too, Jordan was my favorite! He was awesome. Abby and Dan were okay, but i didn’t really believed in their love story. Seeing all the weird black and white pictures was a big plus. I don’t think i would’ve enjoyed it that much without them. I think it was a good book to enter October.

Asylum: 3/5
