Review : 172 hours on the moon by Johan Harstad

“It’s been decades since anyone set foot on the moon. Now three ordinary teenagers, the winners of NASA’s unprecedented, worldwide lottery, are about to become the first young people in space–and change their lives forever. Mia, from Norway, hopes this will be her punk band’s ticket to fame and fortune. Midori believes it’s her way out of her restrained life in Japan. Antoine, from France, just wants to get as far away from his ex-girlfriend as possible.
It’s the opportunity of a lifetime, but little do the teenagers know that something sinister is waiting for them on the desolate surface of the moon. And in the black vacuum of space… no one is coming to save them.” (Goodreads)

Holy crap. Holy crap this book guys.
Okay, so the first part is a bit slow. You get to see the life before the moon. You get to know why the characters decided to go. It’s an interesting part, but not a lot happens. The second part is freaking creepy, even more than that it’s frightening. And i love it! The ending was… Oh my god. It was spooky and dark and so very good. The writing is also very great, even if it’s a translation. The only thing maybe is that i didn’t really care about the characters.

172 hours on the moon : 4.5/5

Dès que j’ai acheté ce livre cet été j’ai tout de suite pensé à toi! C’était clair que t’allais l’aimer! (C’était juste une impression, je l’ai même pas encore lu moi-même)
