“Something strange is happening at the Orsk furniture superstore in Cleveland, Ohio. Every morning, employees arrive to find broken Kjerring bookshelves, shattered Glans water goblets, and smashed Liripip wardrobes. Sales are down, security cameras reveal nothing, and store managers are panicking.
To unravel the mystery, three employees volunteer to work a nine-hour dusk-till-dawn shift. In the dead of the night, they’ll patrol the empty showroom floor, investigate strange sights and sounds, and encounter horrors that defy the imagination.” (Goodreads)
First, i have to mention how amazing the production on the book is! Look at it! The cover is brillant, eye-catching and funny. Love it when people in the bus thinks i’m reading a weird ikea catalogue. Good job on the layout!
So, the concept of this book was fun and original. I loved the mix of dark humor and the horror. The first part is funny, almost a parody of this kind of job. The second part forgets about the humor and turns into one hell of a creepy nighmare. It was also pretty graphic at some point. I enjoyed it very much
But, it had some flaws. I found that the storyline had some cliché parts (took from other ghost stories). The writing was okay. The characters were boring and even annoying. I really disliked the main character Amy, i wanted to punch her in the face. Oups. I didn’t felt a conection with her or with any of the sides characters.
But even with the flaws, the ending made me want more.
