review : The Eternity Cure (blood of Eden #2) by Julie Kagawa

“In Allison Sekemoto’s world, there is one rule left: Blood calls to blood. She has done the unthinkable: died so that she might continue to live. Cast out of Eden and separated from the boy she dared to love, Allie will follow the call of blood to save her creator, Kanin, from the psychotic vampire Sarren. But when the trail leads to Allie’s birthplace in New Covington, what Allie finds there will change the world forever—and possibly end human and vampire existence. There’s a new plague on the rise, a strain of the Red Lung virus that wiped out most of humanity generations ago—and this strain is deadly to humans and vampires alike. The only hope for a cure lies in the secrets Kanin carries, if Allie can get to him in time. Allison thought that immortality was forever. But now, with eternity itself hanging in the balance, the lines between human and monster will blur even further, and Allie must face another choice she could never have imagined having to make.” (goodreads)

The Immortal Rules is the book that gave me back my interest for vampire stories. The Eternity Cure is an amazing reminder of how awesome these stories can be. This book left me desperate for more. it is so well done, I was hooked from page one. this was a perfect sequel. it’s dark and action pack and so freaking entertaining. it is so hard to put down! the world building is wonderful. i absolutely love this creepy, desolate, and hopeless (well, almost hopeless) world. Vampires in a dystopian world? yes. just YES. oh and Kagawa is such a good storyteller. I very much enjoyed her writing.
the characters are fascinating. Allison Sekemoto is a perfect exemple of what a good main character should be. smart, badass, interesting and damn fun to read about. One of the best female character! Kanin is perfect, Jackal is amazing. he brings dark humor and fun to this story. Zeke is a bit flat to me, even a bit dull. i didn’t fall in love with him in this book ( i remember loving him in TIR). the romance is good, but it is not the main focus in this story and i really like that.

I need the Forever Song now please!

Review : World After (Penryn & the end of days #2) by Susan Ee

“When a group of people capture Penryn’s sister Paige, thinking she’s a monster, the situation ends in a massacre. Paige disappears. Humans are terrified. Mom is heartbroken.
Penryn drives through the streets of San Francisco looking for Paige. Why are the streets so empty? Where is everybody? Her search leads her into the heart of the angels’ secret plans where she catches a glimpse of their motivations, and learns the horrifying extent to which the angels are willing to go. Meanwhile, Raffe hunts for his wings. Without them, he can’t rejoin the angels, can’t take his rightful place as one of their leaders. When faced with recapturing his wings or helping Penryn survive, which will he choose?” (Goodreads)

This is such a good book series and world after is a great sequel.
It’s super fast paced and full of action. It’s entertaining and really hard to put down. The world building is fascinating, love this dark and creepy universe. Plus, i got so attached to the characters! Penryn is so badass and smart. She’s awesome. I love how strong she is and how much she cares about her familly. And Raffe. Oh my god. Raffe is simply the best. He’s funny and hot and a perfect match for Penryn. The only thing i didn’t like about this book is that we didn’t get to see him a lot. More Raffe in the next book please. The side characters and the bad guys are pretty interesting too.
Looking for an intense page-turner? This one is perfect.

Review : Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare (manga)

IMG_3697.JPG
Oh, my dear Jem. My love.
Clockwork Princess is my favorite novel of the series. It has romance, action, twists and perfect characters!
And the manga was pretty good too. I just enjoyed it so much. The art is beautiful. Reading a story is one thing, seeing it was something else. It was still painful, still heartbreaking, still really sad and i cried so much. Again.

So, yes, overall, this manga series was pretty fun to read and it made me fall in love all over again with this story.
And Jem, obviously. He’s perfecf.

Clockwork Princess: 4/5

Review : Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare (Manga)

IMG_3671.JPG
Again, i’ll keep it very short because i already did a review for the original novel of this story.
The manga is very enjoyable and a good way to reread this amazing story.
But there is a couple things that i dislike about the manga. I feel like Will is much less lovable in this book. Even the friendship between him ad Jem is not as strong. I think they should have give a bigger place to this friebdship because it’s a important piece of the book. The love story is not as interesting if you don’t get how close Will and Jem are. I don’t know if i’m the only one who feels like that. I also feel like they focus more on the couple Will/Tessa than Jem/Tessa and i think it’s a bit sad. Jem and Tessa are a great couple in the book, i love them together, but the manga makes it feel like Tessa is not in love with him. Everything is happening so fast that you can’t really understand their love.
i still like this manga, but you really should read the books if you want to understand and enjoy the story.

Clockwork Prince (Manga) : 4/5

Quote – The Mara Dyer Series

“Thinking something does not make it true. Wanting something does not make it real”

“We’re strangers who happen to live in the same house”

“My heart beats her name”

“i would rather die witg the taste of you on my tongue than live and never touch you again. I’m in love with you, Mara. I love you. No matter what you do”

“you’re stronger than you believe. Don’t let your fear own you. Own yourself”

“For as long as i can remember, i’ve had trouble woth feelings. Other people get scared, or nervous, or shy, or excited, or happy, or sad. I seem to have two settings : blank or emthy”

“Do not find peace. Find passion. Find something you want to die for more than something you want to live for”

“The fundamental truth about humanity is that most people would rather look away”
