Review : The Retribution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #3) by Michelle Hodkin

“Mara Dyer wants to believe there’s more to the lies she’s been told.
There is. She doesn’t stop to think about where her quest for the truth might lead. She should. She never had to imagine how far she would go for vengeance. She will now. Loyalties are betrayed, guilt and innocence tangle, and fate and chance collide in this shocking conclusion to Mara Dyer’s story.
Retribution has arrived.” (Goodreads)

I feel like i waited forever for this book. First, you all have to know that i LOVE this series!
So, after the crazy ending for the second book, i was expecting one freaking intense third book and it was! The begining feels like a Saw movie. It’s gory and dark. I love the psycological mystery and horror, it makes the story so interesting. You start asking quetions and wondering what is real and what is not. The ambiance in this book is super creepy and Michelle Hodkin really can capture that spooky feel. Her writing is beautiful.
To me, Te Retribution of Mara Dyer was very different from the other two in the trilogy. The story takes a new turn and so does the characters.
I didn’t feel like Mara was the same girl. That bother me at first, i understand everything she went through and how pain can change someone, but for me, it was like reading about two diffrent girls. The characters, overall, were all fantastic. Love the trio that is Mara, Jamie and Stella. When Mara and Jamie talked together, it’s hilarious. Their relationship is A+.
An other thing that bother me were the jumps in time. I think they were a bit annoying and they were breaking the rhythm of the story.
I feel like i have so many more things to say but i don’t want to say any spoilers, so i’ll keep it to myself. But, yes, i think The Retribution of Mara Dyer was a good ending to a great series. I love it so much.
