Review : Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle

“A Christmas Eve snowstorm transforms one small town into a romantic haven, the kind you see only in movies. Well, kinda. After all, a cold and wet hike from a stranded train through the middle of nowhere would not normally end with a delicious kiss from a charming stranger. And no one would think that a trip to the Waffle House through four feet of snow would lead to love with an old friend. Or that the way back to true love begins with a painfully early morning shift at Starbucks. ” ( goodreads)

The Jubilee Express by Maureen Johnson : this story was everything i was looking for, it was cute, christmasy, and funny. Jubilee is an awesome main character and I really enjoyed her voice. Stuart was also a great characters, he’s adorable. i like him a lot. Like always, Johnson’s writing was awesome. Love her style. She is a good storyteller and she always creates fun and realistic characters. The story was entertaining. This was a perfect begining …

A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle by John Green : Sadly, this story was not as good as i expected. I really wanted to like it more because i love john Green, but the characters were stupid… i really didn’t like them. Their actions were completely absurd. Also, i got bored very quickly by this cheerleader thing. The story was okay and the romance was cute, but overall, i was disappointed.

The Patron Saint of Pigs by Lauren Myracle i never read anything my Lauren Myracle before, never even heard of her name, and god did this short story didn’t made me want to check out more of her work. this story killed me… and not in a good way. The main character was awful. I hated her. Her voice was super boring. She’s just a super self-absorbed annoying girl and i don’t believe she actually changed at the end. The story makes it seem ok to cheat on someone and apologize afterwards. I felt bad for Jeb… but he’s a bit stupid for liking that annoying girl. Plus, pretty much 95% of this story is about Addie feeling sorry for herself. UGH. The last part when all the characters from the 3 stories are together was not well-written. It felt like Lauren Myracle didn’t understand the characters of the other stories, so she just destroy all the good things about them and turned them into empthy creatures. She made every likeable characters from the first two stories very unlikeable in hers. it was bad…

this book started with a good punch, it was fun and cute, but the two other stories kept bring it down. Overall, i enjoy Let It Snow, but i was really hoping for something else. something better.
