Review : The Mortal Instruments (book 1,2,3) by Cassandra Clare

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder― much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing―not even a smear of blood―to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know…”

i decided to reread this wonderful series because i was missing this world and those characters and pretty much everything about it.

Cassandra Clare is a great storyteller and a very good writer. I enjoyed her style alot. She knows how to write action scenes, they are all incredible adn well done.  The world building is complex and so interesting. I absolutely love it!

And those characters. Jace, Clary, Izzy, Simon and my two favorites, Alec and Magnus are all so, so, soooo fantastic. I have so much love for them. I will never forget them. I am so attached and i cared so much. i just want everybody to be happy.

City of bones :  This book is more about the whole shadowhunters world. We learn all about it and there is a lot to take in at once. It’s a perfect first book in a series, I couldn’t put it down.  It’s told only by Clary’s POV, and that was interesting. Clary’s voice is great and she an awesome main character. I like her alot.

City of Ashes : this one focus more on the relationship and the characters. I think this one was even better than the first one. We get more than 1 POVs so that helps to learn more about the other characters.  The story gets more complex and more fascinating. I love everything about this book. Plus, Malec. Malec, Malec, Malec. Malec is everything.

City of Glass :  Best book of the whole series. It has action and character developpement. It had a couple of slow parts, but still it is a magical book. I just love this book so much.

The first 3 books are so much fun to read. Fast paced and full of action. the characters are unforgettable. Their relationships are extraodinary.

Read them.

City of Bones : 4/5

City of Ashes : 4.5/5

City of Glass : 4.5/5
