Review : Simon VS. the homo sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised.
With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

it took me a couple of days before i was capable of having a review that had a bit of sense because  i’m still high on this book. it makes my brain go asdgdsfggd everytime I think about it.

this book is soooo cute. so, so freaking cute!! if you are looking for a good love story that will make you smile for almost the entire time, this one is for you. i just couldn’t stop smiling. Everything about it was amazing. loved the story, it was simple and adorable. I really like the whole idea of not knowing who Blue was. Just like Simon, i kept trying to figure it out and when we finally know who he is everything is perfect and awhhh ( i’m actually smiling while writing this)

Simon is a wonderful character. He is funny and smart. i really enjoyed his voice! And I cared so much about him, i wanted everything to be ok, for him but also for everybody else. The cast of characters is really fun to follow. I really could relate to them because they are all geeks and nerds and the number of geeky references in this one is phenomenal. Doctor Who, Hunger Games, Animes, Harry Potter….because, Yes, Simon is a huge HP fan and it just makes him even more lovable! Blue and Simon’s relationship is so perfect, i can’t even deal with all my emotions. I love seeing the way they learn about eachother. Some parts are cute, others are a bit sad, but it’s mostly cute and funny. they are perfect together, online and in real life. The writing style is great, perfect for this story. it’s simple and good and, gosh, i love everything about this book. EVERYTHING.

So, yes, please read this book, it’s sooo good and adorable.

Im listening to the audio version of this now and LOVING it. You always have to be a little doubtful when books are so hyped, but this one isn’t disappointing at all so far. Great review, and I hope I end up loving it as much as you did!
