-I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

-This book comes out in January 2016

I have so much love for this book. I was not expecting to care so much, or to cry like a baby at the end. but it happenned and it was glorious. The story is simple, a student decides to bring a gun and shoot people at his school, but it is also so much more. This story focus on the relationship of the characters. Family, friendship, lover, it’s all in it, all beautiful and absolutely well done. Nijkamp is capable of making those relationship feel so real. That is one of the reason why I cared so much about the characters, i knew their life, i knew their dreams and feelings. We also get those mini biographies of side characters that made me like them… right before they die. We get to know small parts of some of the victims history and I like that, made it way more interesting and heartbreaking. Yes, my heart was broken in so many ways while reading this book. It was such an emotinal read and it was really well done, i’m so glad i’ve read it. The epilogue was too beautiful to handle, a perfect ending to a fantstic book. The characters are all wonderful. I enjoyed all four POVs, they all bring a little something interesting to the storyline. All of them had their own voice, own fears, own goals, i love them. I think those characters are going to stay with me for a while. The writing was great too, poetic and beautiful with a little bit of sadness.

Powerful, haunting and heartbreaking, a must read.

This is where it ends : 4.5/5
