Review : Alive by Scott Sigler

“A young woman awakes trapped in an enclosed space. She has no idea who she is or how she got there. With only her instincts to guide her, she escapes her own confinement—and finds she’s not alone. She frees the others in the room and leads them into a corridor filled with the remains of a war long past. The farther these survivors travel, the worse are the horrors they confront. And as they slowly come to understand what this prison is, they realize that the worst and strangest possibilities they could have imagined don’t even come close to the truth.”

stop everything and go read this book. I won’t say much about it, but this is one of the most entertaining and unexpected book I have read in a while. It’s dark and brutal. I love how I never knew where this story was going, i couldn’t guess what was going to happen. It is full of interesting and shocking twists and turns, making every chapter more interesting than the last one. It’s fast-paced, thrilling and creepy. The mystery is really good, making it very hard to put this book down. Love the characters too, especially our main girl. I love having her as a narrator, such a great character with a perfect voice! i also really enjoy the writing style, Sigler’s writing in good and perfect for this kind of story!

The less you know, the better, just jump into this story without looking for any informations before and enjoy this creepy, entertaing ride!

Alive : 4.5/5

      • SciFi and Scary says:

Infected was CREEPY! He had some sound effects going on, and I (mayhaps stupidly) listened to this book at night as I was falling asleep. I remember one time waking up to this overlay of possessed-childrenish voices loudly whispering “We’re hunnnnnnnnngrrrrrrrrrrry. We’re hunnnnnnnnnnnnngrrrrrrrry.” …Talk about a disoriented moment of WTF IS GOING ON? Why am I hearing this?!

In other words, I highly recommend it. Just…don’t fall asleep listening to it. ahahaha
