“Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…
That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.
Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.”
I love Colleen Hoover’s writing. She has this beautiful way of describing feelings, you can feel the pain and the love. She is magic. but it also means that it hurts. Reading Hopeless was so painful.Ii was so sad and heartbroken during many parts of this story. When you start understanding what is going on, you feel terrible. I wanted to hug Sky and Holder and I wanted everything to be okay. I really did cared for these two in a very intense way. Hoover’s character are usually the same in every book, they all feel like i know them already from reading her other books. but not this time. Sky and Holder are incredible and stronge. I love Sky’s voice SO MUCH. I could find myslef smiling at what she was saying or how she and Holder interacted with eachother. They were perfect together. I really like every side characters. They all had interesting personalities that made them likeable.
Maybe Someday is still my favorite Colleen Hoover book, But Hopeless is close next.
Hopeless : 4.5/5
