“Postcard-perfect Jar Island is home to charming tourist shops, pristine beaches, amazing oceanfront homes—and three girls secretly plotting revenge.
KAT is sick and tired of being bullied by her former best friend.
LILLIA has always looked out for her little sister, so when she discovers that one of her guy friends has been secretly hooking up with her, she’s going to put a stop to it.
MARY is perpetually haunted by a traumatic event from years past, and the boy who’s responsible has yet to get what’s coming to him.
None of the girls can act on their revenge fantasies alone without being suspected. But together…anything is possible.
With an alliance in place, there will be no more “I wish I’d said…” or “If I could go back and do things differently…” These girls will show Jar Island that revenge is a dish best enjoyed together.”
Well, this book has pretty much every high school clichés you can think of. It was a bit of a turn off for me. I had a big problem with the characters in this story. The side characters are all so annoying. Not only the ones that you are suppose to hate, but really all of them. Even the main girls were very shallow. i dislike Kat so much and i wanted to punch her in the face. She had no real reason to be part of this whole thing. Like if you are such a badass, the words of your ex annoying best friend should not make you so mad… Lillia was a bit stupid, she acted without thinking and over something she doesn’t even have proof of. Mary was okay I guess, but i’m not really sure i understand her very much. I feel like her character is always in need of someone holding her hand. I’m very curious of where her character is going because something really weird and unexpected happens to her at the end of this book and i’m not to sure about it. The writing was good, very addictive. I did find that sometimes it was all going way to far. I don’t want to say any spoilers but the last trick the girls plan was way too much. They are not only joking around, they are destroying someone’s life entirely. I was like, yes, he’s an asshole, but what you are about to do is worst.
So, yup, this book had alot of flaws, but i found it to be entertaining enough. I may buy the next two books, but mostly because i want to know what the hell is going on with Mary.
