“Harry Potter thinks he is an ordinary boy. He lives with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and cousin Dudley, who are mean to him and make him sleep in a cupboard under the stairs. (Dudley, however, has two bedrooms, one to sleep in and one for all his toys and games.) Then Harry starts receiving mysterious letters and his life is changed forever. He is whisked away by a beetle-eyed giant of a man and enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The reason: Harry Potter is a wizard! ”
So, i decided to reread this series because, well, why not? I have been a Harry Potter fan for such a long time and jumping back into it felt so good. I feel like home everything i open up this series. The first book is a great introduction to this magical world. I always found the world building very well done and easy to follow. i think that is why we got hooked after only 1 book. HP and the philosopher’s stone had such a fun storyline. Yes, It’s actually fun and not to intense and dark like the rest of the series. It’s a perfect introduction. short and sweet and the begining of something wonderful.
The second book takes such a darker turn. That is when you start to see how terrible things are going to get. Not going to lie, this was never my favorite book of the series, but i found myself enjoying it almost as much as the first one this time. i also love seeing the relationships. we alreay knew Harry and Ron had such a strong friendship, but you get a better look at it in this one. The fact that Ron went all the way to Harry’s home in the middle of the night with a stolen car because his best friend didn’t answer is letters was such a cute proof that this is the best bromance ever. Also, love that we get more of Hernione in this one. I also notice how cute Ron is, always trying to protect Hermione. he hated her in the first 3/4 of book 1, it’s nice to see these two together. Ron and Hermione = OTP.
I’ll be reading the rest of the series in the next couple of weeks, i’m very excited about it.
