Review : The Rest of us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness

“What if you aren’t the Chosen One?

The one who’s supposed to fight the zombies, or the soul-eating ghosts, or whatever the heck this new thing is, with the blue lights and the death?

What if you’re like Mikey? Who just wants to graduate and go to prom and maybe finally work up the courage to ask Henna out before someone goes and blows up the high school. Again.
Because sometimes there are problems bigger than this week’s end of the world, and sometimes you just have to find the extraordinary in your ordinary life.
Even if your best friend is worshipped by mountain lions.”
I was abit worried at first because I saw many bad reviews of this book. But for me, this book was wonderful! I had so much fun reading it! I always find Patrick Ness books so original, and this one was not an exeption. I love the whole concept. The fact that the crazy end of the world was told in a couple of lines at the begining of each chapter was a great idea. i loved the characters. Mike was relatable for many reasons for me, and i cared for him very much. I actually like the whole group and the diversity of the cast. The book goes from super weird and funny to serious and emotinal, which i really enjoy. And obviously, the writing is GREAT. like always. Patrick Ness is probably one of my favorite writer, i have enjoyed every books I have ever read by him.

This was a quick and great book and I would recommend it.

The rest of us just live here : 4/5
