“After Jen’s alcoholic mother’s death, her father cracked. He dragged Jen to this dilapidated old manor on the shore of New Jersey to “start their new lives”—but Harmony House is more than just a creepy old estate. It’s got a chilling past—and the more Jen discovers its secrets, the more the house awakens. Strange visions follow Jen wherever she goes, and her father’s already-fragile sanity disintegrates before her eyes. As the forces in the house join together to terrorize Jen, she must find a way to escape the past she didn’t know was haunting her—and the mysterious and terrible power she didn’t realize she had.”

the cover had my attention. The synopsis sounded like something i would absolutely love. The prologue was interesting…..but than, everything went wrong. I spend most of my time feeling bored. i was expecting something creepy, scary but what i got was clichés after clichés. There is absolutely nothing scary in this story. What a let down… Also, i feel like the storyline had nothing to do with the prologue, we barely get any explanations, which was soooo dissapointing because it started off really good. The story has some flashbacks which also had nothing very original…. Oh, and the whole Colin storyline? Nop. The romance was not well done, did not believe in it, and we got barely any explaination about Colin’s situation. My bigest problem with this book would be our main character. She was awful, it was impossible to care of her. She’s rude, boring, and just annoying, and not gonna lie, she says “Jesus Christ” wayyyyy to many times is such a short book. None of the character were developed and none of them were interesting. The writing was okay, but it was hard to enjoy it when i saw so many flaws in the story.
Overall, not my first choice if you are looking for a good horror story. Maybe i just read to many books in this genre, but all i could think about while reading was : Been there, done that.
Harmony House : 2/5
