Review : Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

“It’s been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire that brought the Shadowhunters to the brink of oblivion. Emma Carstairs is no longer a child in mourning, but a young woman bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging her losses.

Together with her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica. If only her heart didn’t lead her in treacherous directions…
Making things even more complicated, Julian’s brother Mark—who was captured by the faeries five years ago—has been returned as a bargaining chip. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kind—and they need the Shadowhunters’ help to do it. But time works differently in faerie, so Mark has barely aged and doesn’t recognize his family. Can he ever truly return to them? Will the faeries really allow it?”
this book took over my life like i expected it to do. There is something so magical about Cassandra Clare’s writing that suck me into this epic world,  everytime I open one of her book. In this series, the storyline was so fun. I love how entertaining and addictive it was. Action, romance, family, shadowhunters being all awesome, what more can you ask for? This book is a big one, and the first part of it is mostly just a set up for what about to happen and a reminder of what happened in CoHF, which i did find very useful since it’s been a while. Once the story really pick up, i was alllllll in. The new characters are all amazing. Emma Carstairs is simply epic. Badass, smart, caring, beautiful, and related to my favorite book boyfriend, Jem Carstairs. Her voice is great and fun to follow around. Jules and his family have a great chemistry and i enjoy all of the Blackthorns! Annnnnd, we got to see some of our favorite characters from the other series and this makes me very, very, veryyyy happy. i’m soooooo excited for the next book.

You must fall into the shadow world, it’s fun and emotional and entertaining, and i just love it. I love every second of it.

Lady Midnight : 5/5

I have yet to finish TMI series (I suck, I now) but I somehow got stuck in the third or forth book and I don’t just know where to start again! But seeing this, I want to go back and read it since as much as I want to jump in and read this one already, I don’t think I’d enjoy it knowing I have the other book still hanging…
