“It’s in the rain…and just one drop will kill you.
They don’t believe it at first. Crowded in Zach’s kitchen, Ruby and the rest of the partygoers laugh at Zach’s parents’ frenzied push to get them all inside as it starts to drizzle. But then the radio comes on with the warning, “It’s in the rain! It’s fatal, it’s contagious, and there’s no cure.”
Two weeks later, Ruby is alone. Anyone who’s been touched by rain or washed their hands with tap water is dead. The only drinkable water is quickly running out. Ruby’s only chance for survival is a treacherous hike across the country to find her father-if he’s even still alive. ”
I’m not sure where to start with this one…the plot sounded interesting. Killer rain? that’s something i wanted to see, but i ended up not enjoying it very much. I was mostly disappointed by the ending because nothing got resolved. Ruby ends up exactly were she started : alone with absolutely no idea what to do next. And we get barely any explanations about the killer rain. I found that some part of the plot were a boring, i just wasn’t into it. The writing style was a huge turn off. It surprised me at the very start and i couldn’t get used to it. but my biggest problem with this book was our main character. oh my god, she was such an awful person. i hated her from the starts. She’s not only boring and mean, but she is also way too much into herself and mean and oh god, so stupid. seriously, it’s the end of the world and that girl cares more about her make-up. She kept making bad decisions, i seriously wanted to punch her in the face. Who cares about her stupid hair colours, she should be worried about food, walter and shelter. Her priorities were all wrong and she mostly just made me mad. Also, the way she talked to Darius. Nop. I would’ve walked away very fast if i was him. I didn’t care about any if the side characters either.
So, yup, didn’t enjoyed that book very much. The premise sounded great but there’s so many things i dislike that I can not recommend it.
