Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac should never have met.
Lee is captain of the forces sent to Avon to crush the terraformed planet’s rebellious colonists, but she has her own reasons for hating the insurgents.
Rebellion is in Flynn’s blood. Terraforming corporations make their fortune by recruiting colonists to make the inhospitable planets livable, with the promise of a better life for their children. But they never fulfilled their promise on Avon, and decades later, Flynn is leading the rebellion.
Desperate for any advantage in a bloody and unrelentingly war, Flynn does the only thing that makes sense when he and Lee cross paths: he returns to base with her as prisoner. But as his fellow rebels prepare to execute this tough-talking girl with nerves of steel, Flynn makes another choice that will change him forever. He and Lee escape the rebel base together, caught between two sides of a senseless war.
This was not really the sequel i was hoping for. It’s not that i hated it, but there’s a couple of things i just didn’t like. Overall, the storyline was okay. It was abit slow at first, i had a hard time getting into it, but the second half was more fun and fast-paced. It was an interesting plot but i felt like the whole mystery was push aside by the romance aspect. I didn’t mind it in book one, i absolutly adore the love story in that one, but in this sequel, i just couldn’t care much. I felt like it was rush, like the character were ready way too fast to give up on everything they believed in just because maybe the other person could help. Obviously, later on you realize why it was so easy for them to follow eachother, but still, i had a hard time with this aspect. The characters were okay, i didn’t care that much about them. The best part was seeing some of of my favorites from book 1. The writing was great, i really enjoy it.
i’m going to read the next book in the series, i need to see how it all ends, i’m hoping to see all our characters work together, this could bring some fun interactions.
