Horror recommendations : Netflix (Canada) – Oct 2016

If you’ve been following me for a while, here or on Instagram, you probably know that horror is my favorite genre. I have been a horror movie addict for as long as I can remember. So, since it’s October and Halloween month, I decided to share with you some of my favorite horror films available on Netflix. Obviously, I’m from Canada so you may not be able to find all the movies on the US or UK Netflix.

For their ghost hunting reality show, a production crew locks themselves inside an abandoned mental hospital that’s supposedly haunted – and it might prove to be all too true.

It’s a found footage, it’s a ghost story, and it happens in an abandoned hospital. I know what you’re thinking : ughh, really?. BUT. for some reason, I absolutely adore this one. It’s creepy and entertaining. I’m really excited that this has been added on Netflix.

HUSH (2016) :
A deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window.

This one was a very nice surprise. I was not expecting to enjoy it so much, but I loved the fact that our main character is deaf. it makes the whole thing a lot more intense for her. Being under attack and not being able to hear is a thing is scary.

THE TAKING (2014) :
An elderly woman battling Alzheimer’s disease agrees to let a film crew document her condition, but what they discover is something far more sinister going on.

The last part of this movie is sooooo creepy. Actually, the whole movie is very creepy. I like the concept of mixing Alzheimer and supernatural. Yes, it’s an other found footage, but hey, it’s not my fault they are everywhere. This one was a good one, so I hope you enjoy.

Desperate to help her ailing brother, a young woman unknowingly agrees to compete in a deadly game of “Would You Rather,” hosted by a sadistic aristocrat

This one was a good little movie with a ending that made me feel so bad. Very entertaining, gore, with an interesting concept.

EMELIE (2015) :
A couple’s replacement babysitter turns out to be more than they bargained for when she subjects their kids to a series of twisted activities.

this movie was disturbing. It made me feel uncomfortable in many scenes. The porno movie scene for exemple, I was like holy crap, she’s really doing that?! O.O This movie has a very dark vibe which is perfect for this time of the year.

That’s all for today, I may do an other recommendation post because there’s a lot more movie I want to talk about. Obviously, I tried to talk about movies that are a little less well known. There’s a lot of good popular movies on there, but you guys have probably seen them already.
Hope you enjoyed!
