Review : Nerve by Jeanne Ryan

When Vee is picked to be a player in NERVE, an anonymous game of dares broadcast live online, she discovers that the game knows her. They tempt her with prizes taken from her ThisIsMe page and team her up with the perfect boy, sizzling-hot Ian. At first it’s exhilarating–Vee and Ian’s fans cheer them on to riskier dares with higher stakes. But the game takes a twisted turn when they’re directed to a secret location with five other players for the Grand Prize round. Suddenly they’re playing all or nothing, with their lives on the line. Just how far will Vee go before she loses NERVE?

Sadly, this book didn’t work for me. There’s so many things wrong about this novel, ugh. So, first of the characters. Vee is annoying and soooooooo dumb. Her choices and actions make NO SENS. Why would you pretend to be a prostitute amd try selling your body for 100$ ? All this for a new phone. *roll eyes* Vee is a teenager…… And Ian, gosh, what a  boring cliché. Nothing new i him. The romance makes no sense, i just don’t believe in it. The storyline, overall, was entertaining. I like a story with dares at its center, but the flaws just killed it. I couldn’t enjoy it. The ending was ridiculous and i hope to god we don’t get a sequel (yes, the ending opens the door to a possible sequel)

If you’re looking for book about dares, i wouldn’t recommend this one (BUT you should check out Dead Girls Society).

I’d be very interesting to see the movie because i heard goodthinhs about it. Also, it looks SO DIFFERENT from the book. So who knows, maybe it’s better.

Nerve : 2/5
