Reread : Aristotle and Dante discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

I already talked and review this book on the blog. But i just finished an other reread of it and had to let you guys know : Even after the third time, this book stays mind blowing.

I will never get bored of it. It’s like i fall in love all over again with the story, the writing and those characters.

So, if you haven’t read it. Do it. Do it now.

My first review of this perfection is here : X if you want to see me fangirl about it.

Review : The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love—she’s lived through it twenty-six times. She crushes hard and crushes often, but always in secret. Because no matter how many times her twin sister, Cassie, tells her to woman up, Molly can’t stomach the idea of rejection. So she’s careful. Fat girls always have to be careful. Then a cute new girl enters Cassie’s orbit, and for the first time ever, Molly’s cynical twin is a lovesick mess. Meanwhile, Molly’s totally not dying of loneliness—except for the part where she is. Luckily, Cassie’s new girlfriend comes with a cute hipster-boy sidekick. Will is funny and flirtatious and just might be perfect crush material. Maybe more than crush material. And if Molly can win him over, she’ll get her first kiss and she’ll get her twin back. There’s only one problem: Molly’s coworker Reid. He’s an awkward Tolkien superfan with a season pass to the Ren Faire, and there’s absolutely no way Molly could fall for him. Right?

I think Becky Albertalli is my new queen of contemporary. Ugh, this was such a good book. The best part of it has to be our main character, Molly. She was fun to follow around. Her voice just sounded so true and human. She is incredibly relatable, very human with all her good and bad side. The side characters were are so fun too. It’s hard not to like Molly and Reid’s interaction. I found myself smiling a couple times at their jokes. the storyline was entertaining, was hooked from the start. it touches some topics we don’t see much in YA Contemporary and she did it well. Obviously, her writing was perfect full of awesome geeky references.

Oh, and Simon makes a tiny visit, that’s really all we could ask for. ❤

Review : A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOTAR #3) by Sarah J. Maas

A nightmare, I’d told Tamlin. I was the nightmare.Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit—and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well. As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords—and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

I’m gonna keep this one short and sweet so you won’t get any spoilers. This book was phenomenal. I can’t think of any better words to describe this conclusion. When you enter a Sarah J. Maas novel, you just know it’s gonna be epic. And it was. My god, it was so good. Just a crazy, emotional ride. Everytime i started thinking that i knew how it would go, it when in a different way.  The ending was perfect, i’m 100% satisfied with the way she finished this trilogy. Her writing is, as always,  mind blowing. I’m such a big fan of her style. It’s addictive and beautiful. Her world building is impressive and she just knows how to give us lovable characters. This cast made the adventure even better. I loved everybody. I’m gonna miss them so much.

i can’t believe it’s the end of this trilogy, but i am super excited to see more of this world.

the last thing i’ll say is READ THIS SERIES. i swear you won’t regret it.

i’m not saying more.

Review : Lord of Shadows (TDA #2) by Cassandra Clare.

A Shadowhunter’s life is bound by duty. Constrained by honor. The word of a Shadowhunter is a solemn pledge, and no vow is more sacred than the vow that binds parabatai, warrior partners—sworn to fight together, die together, but never to fall in love.
Emma Carstairs has learned that the love she shares with her parabatai, Julian Blackthorn, isn’t just forbidden—it could destroy them both. She knows she should run from Julian. But how can she when the Blackthorns are threatened by enemies on all sides? Their only hope is the Black Volume of the Dead, a spell book of terrible power. Everyone wants it. Only the Blackthorns can find it. Spurred on by a dark bargain with the Seelie Queen, Emma; her best friend, Cristina; and Mark and Julian Blackthorn journey into the Courts of Faerie, where glittering revels hide bloody danger and no promise can be trusted. Meanwhile, rising tension between Shadowhunters and Downworlders has produced the Cohort, an extremist group of Shadowhunters dedicated to registering Downworlders and “unsuitable” Nephilim. They’ll do anything in their power to expose Julian’s secrets and take the Los Angeles Institute for their own.
When Downworlders turn against the Clave, a new threat rises in the form of the Lord of Shadows—the Unseelie King, who sends his greatest warriors to slaughter those with Blackthorn blood and seize the Black Volume. As dangers close in, Julian devises a risky scheme that depends on the cooperation of an unpredictable enemy. But success may come with a price he and Emma cannot even imagine, one that will bring with it a reckoning of blood that could have repercussions for everyone and everything they hold dear.

i’ve reviewed 12 books from the shadowhunter universe on the blog, so i’m guessing you guys know how much i LOVE this world. Lord of Shadow was just was good as Lady Midnight. The storyline is entertaining and just so damn interesting to follow. Cassanda Clare is a queen, her endings are always so crazy. This one was no exception. It left me wanting more, crying and with a heart broken. It was also nice to keep up with the old squad. Especially my Baby Alec and his family ❤ One of the thing i love the most so far about TDA is the relationships. The whole family is so close and lovable, you just want everybody to be okay. I love how they all have their very own personality, even if there’s so many of them. I have to talk about Kit and Ty because my god, i love them. I have no idea where exactly their relationship is going, i’m hoping future Parabatai, but i absolutely adore them together. Both of them being some of my favorite in this series. I’m so excited to see more.

As you can see, i was a big fan of Lord of Shadows, i don’t think there’s one thing i didn’t like. I’m loving this series.

Tattoo Stories – Part 1

Tattoo Stories is going to be a series of posts where I talk a little about my tattoos. I have a couple of them and i think it’s always interesting to see why people get them.

Lets start with tattoo number 1, This little guy :

My little star was actually my first tattoo. I was only 17 years old and to be honest, at first, it didn’t mean much. I got a star because i found it cute and i just really wanted a tattoo. Now, this little one means so much to me. You see, since i was only 17, i needed a parent autorisation. My parents didn’t mind at all the tattoo, but since they were both at work, my grandfather came with me. My grandfather was one of the most curious human being i ever had in my life. So obviously, the second we walked into this dark and weird place where the people who worked there had devil horns and very graphic tattoos, my grandfather started asking questions. Everybody there was so nice and didn’t mind much all the questions, plus it made me less nervous. I will forever remember this day everytime i see this little star.

My grandfather passed away 3 years ago and i still think of him everyday.  He was such a important part of my life, especially when i was a kid, bringing me and my brother on adventures around the city. I miss him.

So, here it is. Tattoo story number one, the star that makes me think of my curious grandfather ❤

Review : Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner

One day Carver Briggs had it all–three best friends, a supportive family and a reputation as a talented writer at his high school, Nashville Academy for the Arts. The next day it all crashed and burned, literally, after he wrote them out of existence with an inane text sent to his friend Mars–the last words his friends ever see. Carver can”t stop blaming himself for the fatal crash and he”s not the only one. Eli”s twin sister is trying to freeze him out of school with her death-ray stare. Even worse, Mars”s father, a powerful judge, pressures the district attorney to open a criminal investigation into Carver”s actions. But Carver has some unexpected allies: Eli”s girlfriend, who is the only person to stand by him at school, and Blake”s grandmother, who asks Carver to spend a Goodbye Day with her–having him stand in as Blake for one last day doing all their favorite things so they can share memories and say a proper goodbye.
Soon Eli and Mars”s families are asking for a Goodbye Day with Carver–but he”s unsure of their motives. Will they all be able to make peace with their losses, or will these Goodbye Days bring Carver one step closer to prison or a complete breakdown?

After reading a book like this one, i just feel so freaking grateful for being a bookworm because wow. Just wow. Sometimes, a story will hit you in the face with emotions and depth and Goodbye Days was one of those for me. What a crazy ride. This one is sad. So, so, so sad. I stopped counting the number of times i wanted to hug Carver. I can’t even start to imagine what it would be like to be in his situation. He’s so strong and so relatable. I loved him. I just want him to be okay. The story was incredibly well done. I cried. I felt for the characters, i was stuck into this story from the start. I have to say the “romance” part was meh for me. i didn’t enjoy those moments and i dislike how Carver reacted too. The ending did left me wanting more, i truly want to know how everybody is doing now.

I have a lot of love for this story. It’s a good one, full of emotions and heartbreaks. It’s also the type of story that will make you think about many things. Friendship, family, death and life.

Goodbye Days : 4.5/5

Sarah plays LITTLE NIGHTMARES

header

Played on Xbox One

It’s been a while since i had that much fun playing a game. I mean, i always love my horror games, but they are usually intense and stressful. This one had that element too, but in i think in a very different way, it was such an interesting game, Very creepy I mean, those evil characters were absolutely horrifying. I love them all. I think they all made great vilains. They were terrifying in the best way possible.  The whole game was just fantastic. The visual was really pleasing, it’s a style i just adore. The story itself is not much explained, there’s no dialogue, you kinda have to guess what’s going on with what you are seeing, that was no problem for me. I was hoping for a little more info once i got to the ending, but i didn’t. It left me wanting more, but i still like how it ended.  I loved our charater, Six, we know nothing about her (him?) and she was very fun to play. She was adorable.

I guess you guys can see i loved that game, i loved every part of it. Played it in one sitting, wanting so much more once it was over. Little Nightmares is a great game, a new favorite for me. I can only recommend it.
