Reread : Simon VS The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised. With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

We talked about this one in 2015 here X and again back in December here X, so i’m guessing by now, you guys know how much i love this baby.

This book is definitely one of ny favorite book of all time. it’s fun, it’s sweet, it’s freaking adorable. i only have love for this one. It’s perfect in every ways possible.

I want a best friend like Simon please. He’s a great main character, so fun to follow around.

Also, the geeky aspect is such a nice little touche. Very relatable.

I want mooooooore

Review : Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity #2) by V. E. Schwab

THE WORLD IS BREAKING. AND SO ARE THEY.
KATE HARKER isn’t afraid of monsters. She hunts them. And she’s good at it.
AUGUST FLYNN once yearned to be human. He has a part to play. And he will play it, no matter the cost.
THE WAR HAS BEGUN.
THE MONSTERS ARE WINNING.

Kate will have to return to Verity. August will have to let her back in. And a new monster is waiting—one that feeds on chaos and brings out its victims’ inner demons.
Which will be harder to conquer: the monsters they face, or the monsters within?

Everything Victoria Schwab writes is magical. Simply magical. And this book was  absolutely fantastic. Flawless. From start to end, this book was an epic ride. It’s dark, it’s heavy, it’s entertaining as hell. And that ending is just heartbreaking and kind of perfect for this story even if it hurt to admit. My favorite part is the characters. I love them all. Kate and August are incredible. Both of them in their own way. There’s so much strength and sadness in these two main characters. The villain are amazing. Sloan may be one of my new favorite bad guys. He is so evil, so interesting, and i just love him. I can’t believe this is the end of the series, i want more. Her writing is just perfect. I’m such a big fan of her  style and she will always be one of my favorite writer. it’s beautiful, poetic and dark. I love it, i love her, i love everything about this story.

Reread : Aristotle and Dante discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

I already talked and review this book on the blog. But i just finished an other reread of it and had to let you guys know : Even after the third time, this book stays mind blowing.

I will never get bored of it. It’s like i fall in love all over again with the story, the writing and those characters.

So, if you haven’t read it. Do it. Do it now.

My first review of this perfection is here : X if you want to see me fangirl about it.

Review : The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love—she’s lived through it twenty-six times. She crushes hard and crushes often, but always in secret. Because no matter how many times her twin sister, Cassie, tells her to woman up, Molly can’t stomach the idea of rejection. So she’s careful. Fat girls always have to be careful. Then a cute new girl enters Cassie’s orbit, and for the first time ever, Molly’s cynical twin is a lovesick mess. Meanwhile, Molly’s totally not dying of loneliness—except for the part where she is. Luckily, Cassie’s new girlfriend comes with a cute hipster-boy sidekick. Will is funny and flirtatious and just might be perfect crush material. Maybe more than crush material. And if Molly can win him over, she’ll get her first kiss and she’ll get her twin back. There’s only one problem: Molly’s coworker Reid. He’s an awkward Tolkien superfan with a season pass to the Ren Faire, and there’s absolutely no way Molly could fall for him. Right?

I think Becky Albertalli is my new queen of contemporary. Ugh, this was such a good book. The best part of it has to be our main character, Molly. She was fun to follow around. Her voice just sounded so true and human. She is incredibly relatable, very human with all her good and bad side. The side characters were are so fun too. It’s hard not to like Molly and Reid’s interaction. I found myself smiling a couple times at their jokes. the storyline was entertaining, was hooked from the start. it touches some topics we don’t see much in YA Contemporary and she did it well. Obviously, her writing was perfect full of awesome geeky references.

Oh, and Simon makes a tiny visit, that’s really all we could ask for. ❤

The Upside of Unrequited : 5/5

The ond when i’m 24.

Dear Monday,

it was my birthday today. i am now a 24year old. Last year, when i turned 23, i told how freaked out i was. How scary being 23 felt (X)…i expected 24 to feel to same. Maybe even worst to be honest, but it doesn’t. This year i felt numb a little. Like i just didn’t care, i was to get it over with. My birthday just did not mean much to me and i didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. i’m 24, i’m lost, my mind is a mess 95% of the time and i’m the most unsure i have ever been about who i am and what i want, being 24 doesn’t change that. it doesn’t make it better or worst, it’s just a number.

i guess, Monday, what i really want to say is that birthdays are there to celebrate one more year. it could have been the best year of your life or the most difficult one so far, but i feel like it’s just a set date to make you stop and think for a sec ; okay, i’m year older, what does it mean? Sometimes it freaks you out, sometimes it makes you happy and some years, like this one for me, you’ll just not care.
Yours truly,

Sarah.

Review : A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOTAR #3) by Sarah J. Maas

A nightmare, I’d told Tamlin. I was the nightmare.Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit—and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well. As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords—and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

I’m gonna keep this one short and sweet so you won’t get any spoilers. This book was phenomenal. I can’t think of any better words to describe this conclusion. When you enter a Sarah J. Maas novel, you just know it’s gonna be epic. And it was. My god, it was so good. Just a crazy, emotional ride. Everytime i started thinking that i knew how it would go, it when in a different way.  The ending was perfect, i’m 100% satisfied with the way she finished this trilogy. Her writing is, as always,  mind blowing. I’m such a big fan of her style. It’s addictive and beautiful. Her world building is impressive and she just knows how to give us lovable characters. This cast made the adventure even better. I loved everybody. I’m gonna miss them so much.

i can’t believe it’s the end of this trilogy, but i am super excited to see more of this world.

the last thing i’ll say is READ THIS SERIES. i swear you won’t regret it.

i’m not saying more.
