Review : Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer’s Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

I needed a little break from fantasy books so I randomly picked up Archer’s Voice and it was a good thing. I actually enjoyed this more then I expected. It was also alot darker than expected, not that i’m complaining.

Maybe check the trigger warning for this one, just in case.

I think the story itself is nothing spectacular, it’s a good romance, but it’s very instant-love, which is not my favorite. It felt like they both became quickly addicted to each other, and even if we do get some glimpse into their relationship, it still felt a bit stuck on the surface. Also, the fact that she arrived in town and found a house, a job and a love interest in a day seemed a big unbelievable, but maybe it’s just me…

Archer was the best part of this. I was crushing hard on him the whole time. He is a fantastic love interest and just a sweetheart. I think we can all agree that his happiness must be protected at all cost, right? I’m not the biggest romance reader, and those i have picked up don’t have usually cinnamon roll male characters, so i think that’s one of the main reasons why i loved it so much. i’ll pick an Archer over toxic anytime. Bree on the other hand felt very dull to me. She wasn’t super interesting and i really wish she had more depth to her. Same with the side characters, i wanted a cast of small town people that stood out. Instead, they all felt a bit forgettable and they all just blend in with each other.

But overall, this was a good time. It was a quick read and i’m happy i picked this one up so i can add Archer to my book boyfriend list. ♥

ARCHER’S VOICE : 4/5
